I’m not a nice guy anymore

I’ve realized something over the last… year, I guess.  I’m not a nice guy anymore.

Depending on how long you’ve been following me that might not make much sense, but for most of my life I was the absolute, stereotypical, boy scout, “nice guy”.  I was the first to forgive pretty much anything.  Easy going?  I was a pushover.  Second chances?  Hell, lets push it to fourth or fifth chances.  I had friends, girlfriends and regular acquaintances that treated me like shit and I put up with it.  Wasn’t forgiving them, being there for them when they needed it the important thing?  I let the whole world lean on me, I took care of everyone else.

I’ve actually written about bits and pieces of this over the years as the nice guy act broke down.  About how I was pushing off my issues by trying to help other people with theirs, but that’s only part of the problem.  I think the larger part has to do with my appalling lack of self worth during those years. People Online Disappoint

I should clarify, most people disappoint eventually -thus the Super Villain Johnny posts I did- but it’s even worse involving people online.  And before anyone gets any ideas, this isn’t about anyone specific, it’s the culmination of quite a few experiences over the past few weeks.

I haven’t been writing here much because this site is in a weird limbo place for me.  When I started blogging it wasn’t really to connect with people, not at first anyway, it was just to have a place to write whatever the fuck I wanted to write.  My life was in a crazy place and I didn’t have anyone in real life I was comfortable talking to, so I wrote it all out.  It helped keep me sane.

The other side of blogging is that it does eventually connect you with people that have similar interests, situations, problems, etc.  It’s really easy to make connections, but how much quality is there?  It’s so much easier to ignore someone, be rude, or whatever, when the interactions aren’t face to face.  And there are so many people with different agendas online.  How many of us have been spammed by followers who just want us to check out their “How to improve blog traffic” websites?  Eventually, we weed through the BS to find ‘real’ people that seem to ‘get’ us.

But then, when you’re ultimately disappointed by some of those people online it screws everything up.  The blog isn’t really anonymous anymore because you have relationships with people, when they piss me off I don’t feel like sharing anymore.  Why should they be privy to my innermost thoughts and what’s going on in my life?  Screw them.  I gave them time and energy and opportunities for real connections and they blew it.

So, why post anything?  Maybe I should just stick to “Evil Johnny” cartoons when the mood suits.  Or I could just disappear and leave the assholes guessing.  Which, I have to admit is quite tempting.  I’ll always be a writer, and I’ll probably always have a blog, but that doesn’t mean I have to post anything here.

I don’t know, I’m just tired and frustrated of always being disappointed.

Bad Dreams

If you’re a softy like me when it comes to family and children, I’d advise you to skip this post.

When I dream my brain goes to some crazy places.  Most of the time I can trace back the epic stories to some catalyst during the day.  When I did Walking Dead binges my dreams would start off with some predictable zombie scenario but then spin out into these crazy places.  But almost always I can pin point the inspiration.

The few times I can’t are usually the nightmares.  Unlike the epic adventures, these almost seem to stem from some otherworldly influence.  Some dark force creeps into the room and implants the seeds of those bottomless dreams.  Corridors of horror that only lead to more corridors, endless doors into the blackest of the black.

Last night was one of those. Continue reading

Music Snob

Yes, I’m a music snob.  If you’ve followed for a while you probably already know that, I’ve mentioned it in a couple of my music video posts.

For those of you that haven’t been following long, or are forgetful like me, I played in several bands during my high school and college years.  I even seriously considered moving to Seattle to go to school for Audio Engineering, they have some fantastic schools and the music scene there is incredible.

Being a musician, even if I don’t play much anymore, I’m very picky of “popular” music.  Really picky, to the point where I can’t listen to the radio (doesn’t help that there are only a couple stations here and they’re terrible).

The problem is, most music getting played on the radio these days is all done on computers.  It’s crap.  I’m talking pop mostly, they’re the biggest offenders and get played the most.  They slap a computerized drum track down, throw on some synthesizers, (maybe) have one or two real musicians for things like violin, and have someone sing over it all.  It’s not real music.  That would be like equating a photoshop expert to a painter, maybe his photoshop skills are art, maybe not, but they’re definitely two different things. The Unfinished Line

I thought I’d give everyone a glimpse into how my brain works today.

This afternoon I was walking my pup I saw something that piqued my curiosity.  A Mercedes.  Just seeing a car wouldn’t mean much, this is a wealthy town, but what happened next was weird.  It stopped.

While the town I live in has a lot of millionaires, or at least their vacation houses, I live in the bad neighborhood.  Like a lot of nice places they managed to single out a neighborhood for all the druggies, broke people, and anyone they don’t want mixing with the blue bloods.  The park, across the creek from my apartment, has to have the homeless population routinely rousted.  On the other side of my building is a halfway house. Enjoying Bachelorhood

With my current single-hood, and with the lack of interest in dating, I’m aware that the blog hasn’t been particularly interesting nor will that probably change much any time soon.  That’s part of the reason I did a drunken post over the weekend about how much I love eating p*ssy.  Just because I’m celibate at the moment doesn’t mean I can’t relive some fun memories.

The thing is, I’m really digging being single right now.  I’m not looking around.  At all.  I even took down the only dating site profile I still had up.  Nada.  And it’s awesome.  It’s given me plenty of time to work on a few things, get my head on straight, and stop worrying about a lot of stupid shit.  If I feel like being a lazy ass and sitting around in sweat pants on a Saturday drinking cheap beer there’s no reason why I shouldn’t.  Fuck yeah.  Or putting up drunken blog posts about going down on women.  Why not? Jes@s, I love to eat P*ssy

In case you couldn’t tell from the somewhat edited title, this is an adult themed post.  And I’m more than a little intoxicated a the moment.  So:

“The following program contains adult themes and situations, parental discretion is advised.”

Sigh… Wow, I feel so much better now that I’ve gotten that out of the way.  Would’t want to taint any innocent minds with my salacious thoughts.  Because sex and adult themes are things that need to be carefully controlled and contained in isolated places and never discussed openly.  Apparently.

But now that that’s out of the way…

So, I loooove to eat pussy.  I just want to say that upfront, out loud, and nice and straight forward.  It’s, like, my favorite hobby.  Once a woman spreads her legs for me I know how I’m going to be spending the next hour or two.  The only limitation really is how long my tongue and jaw can keep going because I love it that much. TEOTWAWKI

I read an article today that was interesting, it was about how over sensitized some people have become, especially in colleges.  Teachers have been fired, Universities embarrassed, and many are still struggling over how to handle it.  Essentially, anything can be seen as offensive or uncomfortable to somebody.  What’s fine for one student/reader/etc. will be bothersome to another.  They’ve talked about making important writings and courses optional because someone might be bothered by it.

There are plenty of examples in the article:

http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2015/09/the-coddling-of-the-american-mind/399356/

Now, while that seems a little scary and strange, I realized it tied into one of my other theories about how the internet will lead to TEOTWAWKI (The End Of The World As We Know It, for non-survivalist reality tv show types.  C’mon, I know you laugh at Doomsday Preppers).  I joke about social media and smartphones being signs of the Apocalypse but this is a bit more serious. A One Sided Debate

Since it seems Curiosetta is unwilling to participate in a discussion, I guess I’ll just post my rebuttal.

First, I’d like to just take a moment and explain why the comments that sparked all this pissed me off so much.  There are some crazy people with extreme views that go around and snipe at people online, usually hiding behind anonymity.  Those trolls are annoying but most readers can look at those comments and see that they’re just crazy and extreme and disregard them.  Those types of trolls don’t bother me, they’re more sad than anything else.

No, the people that bug me are the ones with extreme views that are smart enough to incorporate legitimate issues with bullshit misinformation or ridiculousness.  These people piss me off because when you question them they fall back on the nugget of legitimacy.

I’ll give you an fake example.  “Texting and driving is extremely dangerous.  Only uneducated idiots from Colorado text and drive.”

If someone argues against the inflammatory (and stupid) ‘uneducated idiots from Colorado’ part, the original commentor can pull out stats about how dangerous texting and driving is and obviously anyone who disagrees with them is pro-death.  They’re essentially relying on one part of their argument being close to inarguable to lend legitimacy to their whole statement. Invitation to discuss Manliness

Yesterday I read a good post from Scott K on the blog Atheists on Fishing, Let’s Talk About Manliness pt 1.   In one part he wrote about how there are groups of Men’s Rights Activists (MRA or meninists) that troll the internet preaching borderline anti-feminist (I’m being polite here) comments, memes, and stories.  I’ve seen some of those myself and have next to no respect for them.

Overall, it’s a good post and I’d recommend giving it a read.

Anyway, I ended up in a back and forth with one of the people who commented, Curiosetta.  Rather than go back and forth on a third party’s blog, and since Curiosetta does not have a blog (at least not a public one that I can find), I offered to have a chat here.  I was traveling but I’m back and have a weekend to spend going on and on about those tricky, hard to reach, big important questions about life

So, Curiosetta, here is the soapbox.  Mi casa es su casa.  Hop on and get wild, let us all know what you think.  What are your opinions, ideas, what are your proposals?  And maybe you can start by telling us a little about yourself?
